Most recently Azul , was the Creative Director of Grand Performances... contracted to re brand the longest running presenter of free global performing arts in Los Angeles. Azul's expertise in creative brand strategy, design direction, marketing ,video and creating stories with images strengthened the brand and achieved the organization's creative vision onsite, in print, online, and on-air digital media. The 2021 Grand Performances’ 35th summer season was the most attended in the organization's history.
Before landing at GP in 2019, Azul was the Programs Manager of Grand Park, laying the framework for multi-cultured and multi-generational programming, It was here he curated the largest public west coast public NYE & 4th of July celebrations as well as year-round free community programming in Downtown Los Angeles.
Over the past 20 years, Azul has established a career as creative director, photographer, DJ, promoter, visual artist, and producer in film and live events working with many of today's current relevant brands and artists. Azul remains an active artist in the Los Angeles community. Clients include Cashmere Agency, The Getty, Brookfield Arts & Properties, The Music Center, AARP, Sony Music, Boiler Room TV, Red Bull, adidas, FOX, Sony Pictures, Complex, Vice, Warner Japan, Fania Records, The California Endowment, Women’s March LA, and The los Angeles county board of supervisors, to name a few. Over the past ten years, Azul has been aligned with several landmark outdoor event productions and activations.
Produced for Esperanza Community Housing Corporation Azul held a celebration of Afro-Latinidad culture: "La Vida Es Un Festival!" at the Mercado La Paloma in Council District 9. The day-long festival recognized and affirmed the shared heritage of the diaspora, from the Caribbean to Central America.

The Creative Director position at Grand Performances was created in 2019 as part of the company re-structure, after two years of construction on a new event space. My position oversaw Programming, Production, and Marketing to insure the new creative branding vision.

The title track, “Music Life” reflects on the emotional and physical dangers of being a musician. “It can be a more terminal life than other paths,” she explains. “There are some risks involved. You put yourself out there. I wrote that song after returning from a friend’s memorial service.” Unpretentious but dramatic, the song moves with a relaxed pace, but with a dark, afflicted gaze at the world.

The annual celebration of Día de Los Muertos has returned, and Los Angeles has put its own spin on the traditional Mexican holiday. From Oct. 27 to Nov. 3, Grand Park, in partnership with Self Help Graphics & Art and LORE Media & Arts, presented 50 altars and art installations created by local artists and community groups under the theme “Looking to the Past to Build the Future.”
